Sonny Simmons, Global Jungle Album Re-Release

Spin Records Boise presents the album re-release of Sonny Simmons's Global Jungle. Sonny Simmons was an Alto saxophonist in the avant-garde jazz scene of the 1960s. He re-emerged in the 1990s to acclaim in the second half of his career. In 2008, he received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Jazz Foundation.

Kirk Heydt, owner of @spinrecordsboise, played cello on these recordings of this influential free jazz artist and produced the limited edition album release of Global Jungle.

Wontanara with Tin Whiskers is a funky afro-dance band featuring West African master musician, Alya Sylla. Kirk Heydt, AKA "Tin Whiskers" is the owner of Spin Records Boise. He is a multi-Instrumentalist composer, performer, and recording artist with 4 solo albums; "Keep On", "Filmtones and Tales", "Exile in Yaletown", and "Plans for a Gong".
