Sonny Simmons, Global Jungle Album Re-Release
Spin Records Boise presents the upcoming album re-release of Sonny Simmons's Global Jungle. Sonny Simmons was an Alto saxophonist in the avant-garde jazz scene of the 1960s. He re-emerged in the 1990s to acclaim in the second half of his career. In 2008, he received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Jazz Foundation.
Kirk Heydt, owner of @spinrecordsboise, played cello on these recordings of this influential free jazz artist and produced the limited edition album release of Global Jungle.
